Leading Educationist and performer Matthew Fagan's qualifications are as follows:-

  • BMUS-Performance (Victorian College of the Arts, University of Melbourne),

  • BMUS-Composition-Ethnomusicology (Monash University),

  • Graduate Diploma of Education (Monash University),

  • Post Graduate Diploma Community Cultural Development (University of Melbourne)

  • Masters in Community Cultural Development (University of Melbourne).

Matthew has conducted workshops throughout Australia, in Schools and for the public in Metropolitan and regional areas  including Swan Hill, Kerang, Shepparton, Sale, Bairnsdale, Portland, Castlemaine and Bendigo and more.  Matthew has also conducted workshops at Festivals such as the Port Fairy Folk Festival, National Festival  and annually each year since 2009 at festivals and colleges in the U.S.A, Kansas, Nashville and Texas.

Matthew has previously taught Instrumental guitar at the following institutions

Northland Secondary College, Loretto Mandeville Hall, Carey Baptist Grammar, Methodist Ladies College, Marcellin College, Melbourne University, Monash University, Charles La Trobe Secondary College, Northland Secondary College.

Matthew has experience

  • As a Classroom Teacher and  Musical Instrumental Teacher In Classical guitar, contemporary electric guitar, electric bass, upright double bass and keyboard (up to 6th grade AMEB standard).

  • Experience  in Teaching Cert I,II, III, IV in Music at Northland Secondary College

  • Experience in the preparation of students for entry into to the Victorian College of the Arts and for Tertiary study. 

  • As a professional recording and touring concert guitarist and composer Matthew is able to impart his experiential knowledge gained from performing and production skills.
