Featuring 10 String and Electric Guitarist Matthew Fagan, AKA Lord of the Strings! & band&
including Internationally acclaimed, award winning concert pianist, Nicholas Young and composer Alan Griffiths.

Performing Music of Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Emerson Lake and Palmer, Tubular Bells, Beethoven’s 5th Symphony,
Vivaldi Four Season & Australian composers Matthew Fagan (Albums Voyages & Indigo Moon) &
Alan Griffiths (Albums Introspection and Rare View). Alan Griffiths’ works will be performed by a trio consisting
of Violinist Ben Spiers, Cellist Gemma Kneale and pianist Nicholas Young.

The visual projection to live music celebrates the beauty and diversity of our planet earth locally, nationally and
globally including human impacts, solutions and opportunities to take action to protect what we love.
​

Matthew Fagan Guitar
Matthew Fagan has performed in over 120 countries and as guest artist with international performers Billy Connolly,
The Buena Vista Social Club and Natalie Cole amongst others. Billy Connolly was quoted as saying, "Matthew is the best
artist I have toured with". He gave Matthew his Liberty Banjo at the end of their National Tour. Matthew has released nine
music albums and specialises in many styles of guitar from Classical, Flamenco, Celtic, and Finger style,to Electric.
He performs on a unique custom made 10 String Spanish Guitar, Celtic Steel String Guitar and a Santana model-Paul
Reed Smith Electric Guitar.

Matthew's project “Voyages” became the Twilight Concert,at Federation Square on Australia Day from 2004 - 2010
with Matthew as musical director, featuring over 300 performers to audiences of 20,000.

Nicholas Young (Piano)
Internationally acclaimed, Award Winning concert pianist and ‘Young Steinway Artist’, Nicholas Young has regularly
concertised throughout Australia and Europe, appearing as soloist with the Vienna International, West Australian,
Queensland, Adelaide and Willoughby Symphony Orchestras. Nicholas’ accolades include Keyboard Winner of the
2011 ABC Symphony Australia Young Performers Awards & Winner of the 2016 receiving First Prize and Best Beethoven
Performance of the ‘Grand Prize Virtuoso’ International Music Competition (London) and the recipient of Allison/Henderson
Sydney Eisteddfod and Michael Kieran Harvey Piano Scholarships and the Marten Bequest Travelling Scholarship.
An avid supporter of new music, he has given national & world premieres of several works.

Alan Griffiths (Composer)
Acclaimed Australian art music composer Alan Griffiths specializes in writing for piano. After scoring 25 films including 2
feature films Alan concentrates on composing art music. Alan’s repertoire has been included in piano examination syllabuses,
attracted glowing international reviews and performed by some of Australia’s most renowned musicians. Pianist Evgeny Ukhanov
recorded and performed Alan’s debut album Introspection, and pianist Nicholas Young recorded and performs Rare View,
Alan’s second album. Nicholas featured in Rare View’s 2018 world premiere at Beleura House, which was sponsored by SONY
and Stuart & Sons.

Marek Podstawek (World Percussion, sound sculptor)
Marek has toured national and international Festivals in Germany, Czechoslovakia, Russia, Hungary and Yugoslavia and theUnited States.

The theme for the symposium is the importance of the protection and restoration of living ecosystems
as a natural climate solution option with speakers from current cutting edge projects for the
preservation of Animals, Plants and Forests.

to Conservation Campaigners from Victorian National Parks Association and Friends of the Earth and representatives from
