Matthew conducts informative and fun workshops in all guitar styles, spanish, flamenco, fingerstyle, blues, bluegrass, celtic, electric and also banjo and mandolin.
Matthew has over 20 years experience and has toured as a resident artist for the Australia Council, Arts Victoria and has conducted workshops at festivals (Port Fairy Folk Festival, The Croc Festival and the National Folk Festival).
Workshops include all age groups and level of experience, from beginner to advanced and professional. Printed music in both tablature and standard notation is provided and group playing and improvising is part of the fun.
Guest artists also instruct in african, indian percussion and singing.
Matthew Vagan is a VIT registered instrumental teacher wuth the Victorian State Education department and has graduated in BMUS Performance VCA The University of Melbourne, and BMUS Monash University Composition and Ethnomusicology.
